Let Scott act as president peacefully – Saunders

Political Analyst Dante Saunders has appealed to Zambians to allow Vice President Dr. Guy Scott to act as President peacefully as the constitution allows him to do so.

Mr. Saunders says Zambians should understand that one does not need to be black to be Zambian, stating that Dr. Scott maybe white but is Zambian.

Mr. Saunders notes that by Dr. Scott acting as President, it does not mean he automatically becomes the President of the ruling party, but that the party itself will decide who will be its presidential candidate.

He says Dr Scott will only act as President for 90 days during which period Zambians will decide who will lead the country thereafter.

Mr. Saunders says protests against Dr. Scott as acting President should be discouraged by all means and Zambians allowed to concentrate on mourning the late President Sata.

He further states that he is confident that the people of Zambia are peaceful people who will allow peace to continue to reign even after the passing of the President.
