Chama urges PF members to be calm

Former Patriotic Front Lusaka province Chairman Davies Chama says there is no need for PF members to panic or feel betrayed following Cabinet’s decision to confirm Vice President Guy Scott as acting President.

Mr. Chama has told Qfm news in an interview that the constitution allows Dr Scott to act President being the substantive vice president.

Mr. Chama explains that it is in this regard that all Patriotic Front members need to abide and respect what the constitution says.

He says Dr. Scott is a loyal member of the ruling party.

Mr Chama has since appealed to PF members to concentrate on mourning President Michael Sata in peace and unity.

Mr. Chama says people will have the chance to elect the leader of their choice within the stipulated 90 days.

He says in the meantime the acting President should be accorded the respect he deserves; adding that party members should heed the advice party Secretary General Edgar Lungu has been giving following the death of president Sata.
