Hamaundu advises govt on political stability

Financial Analyst Mambo Hamaundu has called on leaders in government to project an image of political stability in the country in order for the country not to face economic challenges in view of the death of President Michael Sata.

Mr. Hamaundu says government officials and public service workers at large should not take advantage of the death of President Michael Sata as a window of opportunity to loot public coffers.

Mr. Hamaundu notes that it is most likely that most businesses will come to a standstill and some foreign investors might want to withhold their investment into the country because of the uncertainty arising from the President’s death.

He says it is for this reason that those in government should ensure that measures are put in place to ensure the economy of the country remains stable even after the death of the President.

Mr Hamaundu states that the country is in a critical period which if not handled carefully would lead to the collapse of the economy.

Mr. Hamaundu says even during the mourning period, those responsible should not steal public funds in the name of facilitating the funeral, but ensure that everything they get from the treasury is accounted for.
