FODEP calls for re-examination of leaders

The Foundation for Democratic Process (FODEP) says there is need for the country to re-examine the leadership that will propel Zambia in the next 50 years.

FODEP Executive Director Macdonald Chipenzi tells QFM News that this is important, stating that if not done, the country will continue to have the same huge social gaps between the rich and the poor even in the next 50 years.

Mr. Chipenzi says his organization strongly feels that what has failed the country in the last 50 years are the leaders the country has had who have not done a good job in the area of reducing the social gap between the rich and poor.

He says this is why it is important therefore for the current crop of leaders to re-examine themselves and see whether they are able to see the country through in next 50 years.

Mr Chipenzi has stated that without proper leadership, governance system, and a proper legal framework, the country will be facing the same challenges it has been facing even in the next 50 years.

He says this means that the country also needs to reflect on where exactly leaders the country has had in the last 50 years have gone wrong and ascertain how to mend such leadership deficits.
