Greenfield urges Zambia to engage in US businesses

The United States (US) Government has appealed to the Zambian government to consider engaging US businesses in different sectors to compete with other businesses from other countries.

Visiting US Bureau of African Affairs Assistant Secretary Linda Thomas-Greenfield has told journalists in Lusaka the Zambian government should consider engaging companies from USA in various projects.

Ms Thomas-Greenfield says the Zambian government will not be disappointed with the kind of work that the US companies can do in areas such as roads, manufacturing, and agriculture among others.

Ms Thomas-Greenfield believes that if government engages businesses from all the countries, companies will be competing for projects in return doing quality works.

She says the US government has worked profitably with Zambia for the past years and that their relationship has been positive.

Ms Thomas-Greenfield, who is representing US President Barrack Obama, at today’s 50 years Golden Jubilee, says the US government will continue supporting Zambian in sectors such as education, health, energy, agriculture, manufacturing among others.
