ZEMA intensify inspections on companies

Zambia Environmental Management Agency (ZEMA) has intensified inspections to ensure that companies adhere to environmental protection standards.

ZEMA public relations officer Irene Chipili has told Qfm news in an interview that the agency is working hard to ensure that all companies adhere to the stipulations of law pertaining to the environment.

Ms. Chipili adds that ZEMA has seen it fit to intensify its inspections especially in the mining sector which is known for serious emissions.

She has appealed to companies that will be visited to cooperate with the ZEMA inspectors.
