RTSA hopes for an accident free jubilee

The Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) says it is hoping for an accident free jubilee celebration period.

RTSA acting public relations Manager Frederick Mubanga has told Qfm news in an interview that it is in this regard that the agency has lined up a tentative program to ensure that high way patrols are intensified.

Mr. Mubanga stresses that any motorist who will be found flaunting road traffic regulations with impunity during the jubilee celebration period will be subjected to the fast track court.

Mr. Mubanga states that the agency does not take pleasure in road accidents hence the need for motorists to cooperate and abide by traffic regulations.

He says an accident free jubilee celebration can only be achieved if all road users observe road traffic rules.

Mr. Mubanga has further warned those in the habit of driving under the influence of alcohol which contrary to section 157 of the road traffic act that they will be dealt with accordingly.

He cites the Great north road, Lusaka-Mongu road, Lusaka-Livingstone road and the Great east road as some of the major highways the agency will be patrolling during the jubilee period.
