PF accuse PS Mushala of sidelining govt officials

The ruling Patriotic Front (PF) in Lusaka has accused Information and Broadcasting Services Permanent Secretary Bert Mushala of directing public media heads to sideline certain government officials in their coverage.

In a press statement issued to QFM News, PF Lusaka Provincial Chairlady, Maggie Mumba, says the PF in the province has observed that a sad trend where developmental programmes initiated by the PF government are not receiving adequate media coverage from the public media.

Ms Mumba recalls that during the MMD regime, all government officials were given full media coverage as opposed to the current situation.

Ms Mumba suspects that public media heads are being controlled by an invisible hand that wants them to ignore the development initiatives of the PF.

She states that statements by PF Secretary General are ignored because some invisible hand somewhere is controlling the public media.

Ms Mumba notes that even statements made by Lusaka Mayor Mulenga Sata who is also Lusaka district PF Chairman are not given attention, a situation she has described as disturbing.

She wonders whose interest Mr. Mushala is serving considering that the public media is failing to communicate clearly the achievements the PF has scored.
