Corruption in legal profession worries LAZ

The Law Association of Zambia (LAZ) says there is need to seriously deal with the issue of corruption in the judiciary and legal profession.

LAZ President George Chisanga says the association is happy that government has since embarked on the legal and justice reforms.

Mr. Chisanga says the legal and justice reforms will help enhance integrity and ethical practice, and help curb corruption in the legal profession.

Mr. Chisanga notes that the public cannot be saved well if the lawyers engage in corruption, stating that LAZ is working hard to address issues that have been causing the public outcry such as corruption in the judiciary.

He adds that corruption affects all sections of society which is why there is need to deal with it from the grassroots.

Mr. Chisanga has further urged all well meaning Zambians to help fight corruption by reporting all corruption activities to the relevant authorities.
