School going girls counseled

Kalwelwe Deputy Head teacher Korana Silukaye in Chisamba district has appealed to school going girls not to be intimidated by traditional norms if they are to achieve their ambitions in life.

In an interview with Qfm News Mrs. Silukaye has encouraged girls to be proud of their education and always do their best in school to have their lives%u2019 dreams become reality.

Mrs. Silukaye however notes that it is disheartening to see some parents forcing their girls to stop school and adhere to some traditional norms that puts their lives at risk of getting into early marriages and pregnancies.

She says parents should be the first ones to protect their children from the vice of early marriages as other stakeholders also do their work to protect the girl child.
