Govt is promoting lawlessness with wage freeze – Msoni

Opposition All People’s Congress (APC) has observed that government will be promoting lawlessness on the country’s labor market if it maintains the wage freeze on the civil service.

Party president Nason Msoni says it is morally wrong for government to manage the country’s economy at the expense of one sector as it has done by maintaining a wage freeze on civil service.

Mr. Msoni has told Qfm News in an interview that by denying one of group of workers a living wage while on the other the cost of living in the country has gone up is an injustice of the highest order.

He says government should to be wary that with this wage freeze in place there will be increased pilferage, thefts and corruption in the country.

The APC leader says his party therefore thinks that the labor unions are justified to call for demonstrations against the passing of the 2015 national budget in Parliament.

He says the labor unions that are representing workers in the civil service are entitled to take such measure because they are stakeholders in the governance of the country as they make a contribution to the national budget.
