RTSA to conduct stakeholders’ PSV driver meeting

The Road Traffic and Safety Agency will conduct countrywide stakeholders’ consultative meetings in order to obtain consensus on the preferred age for drivers, specifically that of the Drivers for Public Service Vehicles (PSV).

RTSA acting Senior Public Relations Manager Fredrick Mubanga says it is the duty for the RTSA to promote a safe and efficient road transport system for all road users countrywide through stakeholder participation, education, regulation, and traffic law enforcement.

Mr Mubanga says RTSA will work closely with stakeholders who include road users, transport service providers and the general public in carrying out its mandate and responsibility as provided under the Road Traffic Act No. 11 of 2002.

He says government has received several submissions from members of the general public on the prescribed age of drivers particularly that of public service vehicles for passengers or minibuses.

Mr Mubanga says the stakeholders’consultative meetings will be held in Lusaka, Kitwe, Livingstone, Kabwe, Kasama and Solwezi between on 18th and 19th October.
