Wina counsels politicians over Jubilee

Veteran Politician Sikota Wina has urged politicians intending to shun the 50th Golden Jubilee celebrations to show good leadership and mobilize their members and be part of the celebrations.

Mr. Wina says the event should not be mistaken for a political event, stating that there are so many reasons to celebrate the peace and unity the country has been experiencing over the last 50 years.

Speaking in an interview with QFM, Mr. Wina also notes that the next 50 years will be crucial for Journalists in the country with regards shaping the future of the country.

He says the agenda the media will set today will have a long impact on the country in the next fifty years.

Mr. Wina, who is also a veteran Journalist, says the harassment of journalists witnessed in the recent past in the country should not be condoned.

He notes that though the Journalism career is risky, it does not give right to authorities and other stakeholders to make the work of Journalists difficult.
