K29m allocated to constitution making process not enough – Grand Coalition

The Grand Coalition championing for the speedy enactment of the New Republican Constitution says the money allocated to the constitution making process is not enough to complete the process.

Grand Coalition Chairman Father Leonard Chiti has however praised government for showing commitment to allocate about K29 million towards the constitution making process.

Father Chiti has told QFM News in an interview that government should not give up on the constitution making process and should continue showing political will so that the country can have a new constitution.

Father Chiti is of the view that though the money is not enough, it is better to allocate something to the constituion making process.

He believes that government can still source for more money from donors and other well wishers to finish the process.

The Grand Coalition Chairperson has since urged Justice Minister Edgar Lungu to show political will in handling the whole process and ensure that he delivers the constitution to the people of Zambia.
