Motorist using Chilumbulu, Burma roads asked to be patient

Government has appealed for patience from motorists using Chilumbulu and Burma roads in Lusaka which are being worked on with the view of expanding them.

Transport, works, supply and communications deputy Minister Panji Kaunda has told Qfm news in an interview that his ministry is working around the clock to ensure that the contractor works within the agreed period of time.

Colonel Kaunda says government is aware of the inconvenience motorists are being subjected to as a result of the construction works on the roads which have resulted in traffic building up especially during peak hours.

He states that it is also important for all to understand that the road projects require funding and other studies to be conducted that may lead to delays in the works in due course.

Colonel Kaunda says his ministry wants all requirements for the expansion of the two roads to be adequately met to make it easy for the contractor to do the works.
