Govt, stakeholders blamed for failure to meet MGDs

Evangelical Youth Alliance International Executive Director Reverend Moses Lungu says government and other stakeholders should shoulder the blame for the country’s failure to meet the Millennium Developmental Goals on reducing poverty and hunger.

Reverend Lungu has told QFM News that government and stakeholders have failed to halt the escalating high levels of poverty in the country.

He says Zambia is failing to attain its poverty reduction targets because of the manner in which the government and relevant stakeholders have been implementing policies aimed at moving the country forward.

Reverend Lungu notes the need for government to seriously find strategies that will improve the programs aimed at reducing poverty especially in rural areas.

Reverend Lungu has further stressed the need for all stakeholders to supplement government efforts in addressing poverty levels in the country.
