UTH acquires blood clot detecting machine

The University Teaching Hospital (UTH) has acquired a cathelization laboratory machine to detect blood clots.

UTH Public relations officer Mwenya Mulenga says the hospital is just waiting for the building to house the equipment to be rehabilitated before the machine can be installed.

Mr Mulenga explains that once the machine is in, people suffering from stroke will be able to be operated on unlike the current situation where people suffering from stroke have to travel abroad to be operated on.

Mr. Mulenga adds that the machine has been purchased using part of the money given to the hospital from the Eurobond.

He has also disclosed that the hospital intends to build three more surgical wards using the Eurobond money.

Mr Mulenga further states that the Eurobond money has gone a long way in helping the hospital given a lot of support to the hospital which will help the institution to provide quality health care to the public.
