Katongo: Team aware of expectations

Zambia captain Christopher Katongo says the team is aware what result the Zambian public wants on Saturday against Niger.

Zambia head to Niger in search of their first Group F win in the 2015 Africa Cup qualifiers.

Honour Janza’s team has only one point from two games played and lie third in Group F behind second placed Mozambique and leaders Cape Verde who have two and six points respectively.

Niger are bottom of Group F with one point.

“On behalf of the players everyone knows what is at stake especially how we lost the points,” Katongo said.

“They have this feeling of how Zambians are feeling like what is going to happen next or which way is next.”

Katongo said Saturday was an important day for the team.

“We are going away and I have told the boys that we are not considering this as an away game otherwise if we just slip another one point or zero point we will start to count ourselves out .This is a do or die game,” Katongo said.
