HH doubts significance of Sata’s Cabinet shakeup

UPND President Hakainde Hichilema has expressed doubted that a shakeup of the Cabinet by President Michael Sata can have a significant impact on how the PF government is governing the country.

Mr. Hichilema has told QFM News that this is because he believes it is the entire PF government that lacks leadership.

He says the PF has already failed to provide leadership on issues such as uplifting people’s lives through poverty alleviation as well as addressing the issue of high unemployment levels among youths in the country.

Mr. Hichilema says had there been leadership in the PF government the country would have had a new constitution by now especially that former Justice Minister and PF Secretary General Wynter Kabimba, who was perceived to be a stumbling block to the constitution making process is no longer in government.

He says the PF government should be reminded that the people of Zambia have not forgotten about their demand for a new constitution.

The UPND leader says the ruling PF should thus not continue hiding behind individuals within government to run away from the issue of the enactment of a new constitution.

But Patriotic Front Secretary General Edgar Lungu has dismissed Mr. Hichilema’s assertions of a leadership crisis in the PF as baseless.

Mr. Lungu says the ruling party is in a hurry to develop the nation.
