Govt poised at taking Zambia to next level – Mukanga

Transport, Works, Supply and Communications Minister Yamfwa Mukanga says telecommunications, roads, and rail are all part of government’s plan to take the country to the next level.

Mr. Mukanga says heavy investment in telecommunications and transport sectors is now the ministry’s focus.

He says government has since put the necessary policies in place to facilitate the investment process in the two sectors.

Mr. Mukanga cites the development of infrastructure such as roads, the conversion from analogue to digital broadcasting as examples of the strides the government is making in taking the country forward.

He adds that development of the road infrastructure in the country has increased the efficiency of transportation which has improved the way business is being done in the country and has ultimately improved the lives of the people of Zambia.

Mr. Mukanga states that his ministry is eager to contribute to Zambia’s growth as a key player in the economy of Southern Africa.
