Lusaka mayor counsels school going children

Lusaka Mayor Mulenga Sata has called on school going children to develop skills of promoting wildlife conservation.

Speaking in a speech read on his behalf by Chaisa ward Councilor George Nyendwa during the Global elephant walk which falls on 4th October, Mr Sata says time is now for the young people in Zambia to realize the importance of conserving wildlife.

He says there need for Zambians to change their mindset towards conservation of natural resources and wildlife.

Mr Sata notes that Zambia is very rich in wildlife and other natural resources though the country has remained behind in the promotion and protection of wildlife for future tourism.

He says conservation of wildlife and natural resources plays an important role for local education and tourism development.

Meanwhile Wildlife Conservationist, David Listion has called on school pupils to develop interest in issues of wildlife and take keen interest in conserving Zambia’s natural resources, if the country is to top in tourism.

He told the pupils that participated in the walk that development of tourism lies young people.
