Govt has put an end to loss of treated water – Banda

Local Government and Housing Deputy Minister Nicolas Banda says government has come up with measures to put to an end the loss of treated water.

Mr. Banda has told QFM News in an interview that government will continue implementing policies aimed at taking safer and cleaner water closer to the people.

He says government is aware that a lot of children have continued to die of diarrheal diseases due to lack of access to treated water by some sections of the community.

He adds that government is deeply concerned with sanitation issues as they remain one of the critical issues to human growth and national development.

Mr. Banda states that government is pleased that over one million people have so far been educated on the need to practice good water and pit-latrine sanitation through the Community Led Total Sanitation (CLTS) Program.
