Chief Chamuka urges govt to increase beneficiaries of FISP

Chief Chamuka of the Lenje speaking people of central province has observed that agriculture still remains critical to the survival of many people in rural areas of the country.

Chief Chamuka says it is thus important that government remains committed to supporting farmers across the country.

He notes that this means that there is need for government to continue increasing the number of farmers accessing the Farmers Input Support Programme (FISP) as it plays a big role in the lives of the farmers in rural areas.

He says if many farmers can access FISP it will also help in reducing the high poverty levels in the rural areas of the country and reduce migrations from rural to urban areas.
