Zambia gets new US envoy

The United States Senate has confirmed the nomination of Eric T. Schultz as new Ambassador to Zambia.

Mr Schultz is expected to arrive in Zambia in the next few weeks.

Ambassador Designate Schultz is a longtime diplomat and career member of the U.S. Senior Foreign Service who most recently served as deputy chief of mission at the U.S. Embassy in Kyiv, Ukraine.

He has also held positions at the U.S. missions to Russia, Zimbabwe, Turkmenistan, Georgia, and at the U.S. Department of State in Washington, D.C.

Ambassador Schultz earned a bachelor’s degree from Macalester College in Minnesota and a master’s degree from the University of Denver.

Ambassador Designate Schultz is married and has two children.
