An educationalist from Swaziland has appealed to the Zambian government to strengthen policies for early childhood education if children are to have a strong education foundation.
Celiwe Thokozani who is a also an early childhood Coordinator at Ngwane College of Education in her country has told Qfm News in an interview that children are the most delicate and sensitive people who need guidance whilst in pre and nursery school.
Ms. Thokozani notes that there is need for stakeholders to share ideas with government on how best children can be given the attention they deserve before they are enrolled to their first primary school grade.
She adds that baby class and nursery school are the most critical stages for a child to learn more and be able know the importance of being in school.
Ms. Thokozani points out that it is also important for parents to support and show care for their little ones in order for them to have great interest in education.
