Musunga gives counsel to youths

Ministry of Youth and Sport Permanent Secretary Agness Musunga has advised young people in the country to give praise were it is due instead of always complaining that government is not looking into their welfare.

Ms. Musunga says government is trying its best in addressing the challenges facing young people in the country, but that sadly most youths do not want to appreciate the efforts being made.

Ms. Musunga says government is trying to address some of the challenges facing young people such unemployment through construction of skills training centres to enable youths acquire skills in various fields.

She adds her ministry is also working on the National Youth Policy to ensure that it is adjusted in line with current trends in the society.

Ms Musunga points out that the Youth development Fund is also another way government is trying to help young people, despite it being abused by the same youths.

The Permanent Secretary notes that from the time the youth development fund was launched; a number of youths have benefited, adding that many more youths are expected to benefit from the fund.

She has since encouraged youths to take advantage of the opportunities being created for them instead of simply complaining of not having jobs.
