Crocodile mauls girl 7

A seven year old girl of Mapenzi farm in Libuyu in Livingstone has been caught and killed by a crocodile in Nansanzu stream.
Rabecca Choolwe was in the company of her brother when the reptile caught while drawing water from the stream on Sunday,September 14,2014 between 16 and 17:00 hours.
And the Zambia Wildlife Authority is saddened by the development and has since deployed officers to the area.
ZAWA Communications and Public Relations Officer Mwila Muliyunda has told QFM News that although the stream is not under ZAWA jurisdiction, the authority decided to deploy its officer to the area.
Ms Muliyunda says the body of the girls has since been retrieved, and that the officers controlled two crocodiles from the stream.
Ms Muliyunda has since cautioned people to stay away from these streams, and implored Parents to take responsibility of their children’s safety and desist from sending them to draw water, fish or bath from the streams and rivers as they may be infested with crocodiles.
In a separate incident, ZAWA has arrested and charged two suspects for being in possession of Leopard skin in Siavonga District of Southern province.
Leonard Siamutale 40 of Sialubange Village and Batoon Siabile, 44 of Siamasandu village were arrested last week and are in custody after being found with the Leopard skin without a license.
