Zango Youth Consortium has commended the Patriotic Front government for placing youth empowerment at the centre of its political agenda.
Consortium President Kanyimbo Katongo has told QFM news that unlike in the previous administrations were no clear policy existed on tackling the problem of youth unemployment in Zambia, the PF government has not only demonstrated its commitment by developing policy roadmaps on youth empowerment.
Mr. Katongo cites the industrialization and job creation paper, the Education standards curriculum, the revised national youth development policy and many others are among the most significant policy roadmaps created by the PF government to liberate the youths from poverty.
He adds that the PF government has also identified the private sector and recognized it as a major stakeholder to partner with government in addressing youth unemployment.
Mr. Katongo further states that the involvement of the private sector dispels allegations being spread by some stakeholders that the current government has intentions of suffocating and chocking the private sector out of business.
