Motivate private sector – PSDA tells govt

Private Sector Development Association (PSDA) says government should come up with mechanisms to motivate the private sector if the economy has to grow.

Speaking in an interview with Qfm, PSDA chairman Yusuf Dodia says Zambian government should understand the role of the private sector which is doing economic activities.

Mr. Dodia says it is so disheartening for the government to blame the private sector when something goes wrong especially concerning the maize marketing.

Mr. Dodia adds that government should find ways of managing the private sector if it has to see the full potential of the private sector.

He stresses that once government shift its mind set from the one party state to a free market economy, the private sector will become more viable.

Mr. Dodia has also urged the private sector to be productive and comprehend government’s effort of boosting the economy.
