EFZ condemns arrest of youths demanding constitution

The Evangelical Fellowship of Zambia (EFZ) says it is wrong for the Patriotic Front (PF) to use the Zambia Police to detain about 46 youths from ActionAid who took part in the Youth Day March past for simply wearing T-shirts demanding for a new constitution.

EFZ Executive Director, Reverend Pukuta Mwanza, has told QFM News in a telephone interview that he does not see anything wrong for the youths to demand for what belongs to them.
Reverend Mwanza says the PF government should expect such things from youths because it is the same PF that promised them a people driven constitution and that the youths were merely reminding them of their obligation.

He says the PF should know that the promises they made to the people of Zambia will continue to haunt them for as long as they continue to give a deaf ear to the demands from the people.

Reverend Mwanza states that the arrest of the youths is uncalled for because they were merely reminding government of the need to deliver the new constitution.
