ZCID is not part of National Dialogue preps – Silavwe

The Zambia Center for Interparty Dialogue (ZCID) says it is not yet part of the preparations for the National Dialogue which is set to be launched on the 18th of January next week.

Spokesperson Jackson Silavwe says the ZCID has however resolved to engage the three church mother bodies leading the National Dialogue on the unresolved issues relating the dialogue process.

Mr. Silavwe says it is only when the three church mother bodies are engaged will it also be known how invitations of who should attend the launch of the National Dialogue can be structured.

He has told QTV News that the ZCID remains the conveners of political parties that will attend the launch of the National Dialogue and participate in the dialogue process.

Mr. Silavwe has also disclosed that the ZCID and the three church mother bodies have not yet signed the Memorandum of Understanding  of how they will work together in handling the dialogue process.

He states that his center hopes that all these issues that are yet to be resolved will be dealt with before the launch of the National Dialogue on the 18th of this month.

And Mr. Silavwe has reiterated the position of the ZCID to oppose any inclusion or exclusion of what political parties have agreed is the agenda for the National Dialogue.

He states that any changes to the agenda they have already agreed upon will have to be first approved by all political parties and all other relevant stakeholders.
