Former U-20 player Changwe Kalale dies

Former Zambia U-20 Player Changwe Kalale has died.

Kalale died in the early hours of Sunday after having been admitted to the University Teaching Hospital.

Kalale has been confined to the wheelchair after having been involved in a road accident whilst heading for national duty in December 2014.

Changwe’s mother, Angela confirmed the demise of her son.
The gifted midfielder got injured with other players on a Zesco United bus which was involved in an accident in December 2014.

Changwe sustained a spine injury after a Zesco United bus he was travelling in collided with a Mitsubishi Pajero in Kabwe.

Four people lost their lives on the spot while eight, including Changwe, former Zesco and Chipolopolo defender Nyambe Mulenga and Green Eagles goalkeeper Satchmo Chakawa, escaped with injuries.

The Cosafa organizing committee had planned a solidarity gesture with Kalale where they had a signed tournament T-Shirt was due to be presented to him.
