Kafue District Health Medical officer-in-Charge Wyson Munga says laboratory results of the blood and stool samples taken from 15 passengers of an Intercape bus who developed diarrhea while in transit are still being awaited.
Doctor Munga has told Qfm News in a telephone interview that the surveillance officer is working around the clock to ensure that the samples taken from the affected passengers are thoroughly examined.
He explains that it is believed that the passengers were given some drinks and snacks by the conductor of the bus.
Doctor Munga says some food Stuffs were also confiscated from the driver and conductor of the bus to help with the investigations of what caused the passengers to fall sick.
He adds that the 15 passengers were given medication and discharged as they await results of the tests.
