All People’s Congress Party president Nason Msoni says it is reckless for the Zambian government to enter into an agreement to export maize to the Democratic Republic of Congo amidst high mealie meal prices in the country.
Mr Msoni states that it is careless and reckless to decide to export the maize before addressing the prevailing hunger and the high cost of mealie meal prices in the country.
He says the high cost of mealie meal is a clear indicator for any government to discern and accept that the country is experiencing a chronic shortage of grain.
Mr Msoni says it is therefore prudent for government to put the plight and interest of citizens first before any other considerations.
