Opposition United Party for National Development (UPND) President Hakainde Hichilema says he is not amused by the replacement of the Financial Intelligence Center Board by government.
Mr. Hichilema, however, states that the move was expected especially that the FIC like many other citizens tried to prevent corruption in government.
In a statement made available to QTV News, Mr. Hichilema hopes that President Edgar Lungu will not proceed to fire the FIC Director General, Mary Chirwa.
He says the FIC has so far proved to be one of the key institutions in combating government’s alleged insatiable appetite for corruption and plunder of public resources.
