Government has been called upon to take a leading role in championing the cause of buying locally produced products.
BuyZed Campaign founder, Evans Ngoma says government should not be seen to be buying imported products at the expense of local brands.
Mr. Ngoma has cited tea and coffee as some of the products which his organization expects government to source from local producers.
He has told QTV News that BuyZed prefers that government makes it policy that the tea and coffee consumed in all government Ministries and departments should be local brands.
Meanwhile Mr. Ngoma says his organization has now patented its logo which it will soon float to local manufacturers for possible placement on their products.
