PF rules out unilateral Constitutional reforms

The ruling PF has ruled out moving a motion in Parliament to effect unilateral amendments to the Republican Constitution on account of the delays to hold the National Dialogue.

PF chairperson for legal affairs Brian Mundubile says his party is still committed to ensuring that the process of cleaning the Country’s supreme law remains people driven.

Mr. Mundubile says the ruling PF will thus remain as democratic as it has been despite having the numbers in Parliament to make any changes to the Constitution.

In an interview with QTV News Mr. Mundubile says his party has to this effect taken note of the submissions various stakeholders have made towards the review of the Constitution.

Mr. Mundubile says his party is however concerned that the standoff with respect holding the National Dialogue has persisted.

He says the ruling PF hopes that opposition political parties will speak with one voice and ensure that the dialogue process is brought into motion on proposed constitutional reforms.

The PF chairperson for legal affairs states that his party considers the differences that have arisen on the National Dialogue to be mare academic and minor.
