Corruption biggest crosscutting issue in Zambia – Burkart

German ambassador Achim Burkart says Corruption is still one of the biggest crossing cutting issue he has observed in Zambia.

Mr. Burkart says he has taken note that corruption has its question in all different  areas of the Zambian society.

In an exclusive interview with QTV News Mr. Burkart says his government through its embassy has had, to this effect, intensive talks with the Zambian government on the question of Corruption.

Mr. Burkart says the talks have been an open dialogue as it should be in a good marriage.

He says if Zambia and German have shared a good marriage, such questions of corruption should therefore be discussed.

Mr.  Burkart states that the government of the two Countries are, in this case, in very good speaking terms on the question of Corruption.

He however notes that there is still room for improvement in Zambia’s space for democracy.

Mr. Burkart says he has observed that there are discussions going-on on issues of freedom of association and speech as well as questions on the human rights area.

He thinks that Zambia, on the other hand, has had a very good record in its democratic credentials over the years.
