Govt urged to delay reopening of CBU in view of wrangles

MMD Die-Hard National Youth Coordinator Gerald Chiluba has implored the government to consider suspending the reopening of the Copperbelt University (CBU) in order to facilitate for serious dialogue between the warring parties.

Mr. Chiluba says there is need for President Edgar Lungu to quickly find modalities of solving the issues at CBU before the University can reopen.

He says what is happening at the institution is a disaster which requires intervention from the highest office in the land.

Mr. Chiluba adds that the issues affecting CBU cannot be dealt with through perceptions because it is very easy to misinterpret all parties involved especially if the situation has ingredients of emotions.

Lecturers at the university are demanding the removal of vice Chancellor Professor Naison Ngoma.
