The ruling Patriotic Front has expressed concern over the amount of hate speech being peddled by known media houses and sponsored by known Opposition political parties targeted at President Edgar Lungu.

PF Media Director Sunday Chanda has told Journalists in Lusaka that these people have moved from ridiculing the Head of State to insulting his person while they publish malicious articles aimed at demeaning the sitting President.

Mr. Chanda says it is unfortunate that these people have now moved to “praying” for President Lungu misfortune, including physical illness through their careless articles and editorials.

He says Zambians with the gift of knowledge understand that it is immoral and inhuman to wish sickness and other misfortune on another human being all for purposes of attaining selfish political objectives.

He adds that no wonder Zambians have continued to associate some political parties with dark forces.

Mr. Chanda says Zambians will recall how Opposition UPND wished late President Michael Sata ill and death until their “prayers” succeeded.

Meanwhile, a PF Youth Ibrahim Mwamba has called on NDC Political Consultant Chishimba Kambwili to embrace divergent views saying any political leaders should be ready to be criticized.

Mwamba says he is happy that the courts have thrown out his restraining order for him to stop criticizing the NDC leader.
