Police in Lusaka have summoned the producers of the video that has gone viral titled “Deadly Blood” in which some people are shown being beaten and burnt using tyres by people carrying what appears like military firearms.

The same video is also captioned “Ritual killings in Lilanda and George Compounds in Lusaka” and “Ritual killers burned to ashes for killing human beings in Zambia.”

In a statement, Inspector General of Police Kakoma Kanganja says preliminary investigations have revealed that the video was produced by Joy Productions of Lusaka and that the same film producers have further advertised for actors through social media.

Mr. Kanganja says the video in question is misleading and has potential to alarm and incite the general public and further create insecurity in the Country.

He adds that the video has the potential to promote instant mob justice in communities.

Mr Kanganja says it is for this reason that the police have summoned the producers of the film for further investigations.

The Police Chief has since advised people in the film industry to always consult and be mindful of consequences certain sensitive productions and contents may have on the security of the nation.
