Commonwealth fails Zambia in the dialogue process-MNT

The Movement for National Transformation, (MNT) says commonwealth has failed Zambia in the dialogue process as it has no sovereign jurisdiction and lacks consensus.

Party President Daniel Shimunza has however opposed and denounced what he termed as academic, impractical, immature, and biased dialogue process, as taken by the commonwealth representative, Professor Ibrahim Gambari, and his entourage, who must be replaced for Ms. Scotland herself, who negotiated with parties directly, because they are overlooking the sovereign jurisdiction of Zambia, as a constitutional democracy, and consensus from all stakeholders.

Mr. Shimunza is of the view that if the commonwealth is not careful, they are creating a wrong failed precedent to handle global situations which will reduce confidence of other nations in their goodwill, in dialogue processes.

He therefore argues that Zambia has competent, reliable, and adequate mechanisms to address its own internal affairs, while not overlooking the credible support of external help, from such international Organizations as the commonwealth.

Mr. Shimunza notes that restricting the dialogue process to PF and UPND, is an error in the tier segmented plans, because, the issues relating to the electoral processes, is inclusive of the other stakeholders like ZCID, and more.

And Mr. Shimunza has accused the patriotic front of failing to show leadership to foster a by-partisan maturity to engage all stake holders.

He says the legacy of president Lungu is at stake, as time is ticking, that PF failed to unify Zambia, during his reign through mature bi-partisanship efforts, beyond party lines.
