300 jobs to be created at modern KK Airport

Housing and Infrastructure Development Minister Ronald Chitotela says 300 permanent jobs will be created once the upgrade of Kenneth Kaunda International Airport and construction of supporting infrastructure is completed.

And Mr. Chitotela has told Parliament that works to upgrade airport road into a dual carriageway will commence before the end of this year.

He was responding to a question by Bwana Mukubwa Member of Parliament Dr. Jonas Chanda who wanted to know when the road will be worked on.

And Mr. Chitotela says the construction works on the Kenneth Kaunda International Airport Presidential Pavilion are progressing well and will be completed very soon.

He says the presidential pavilion is at 76 percent complete from 59 percent reported before parliament adjourned.

Mr. Chitotela adds that government has continued taking the necessary measures aimed at achieving high quality standards through testing of all concrete materials, stones, gravel and building sand, reinforcement bars as well as all works and finishes as an integral part of the monitoring and supervision.
