Kambwili takes fresh plea in ‘forgery case’

Roan Member of Parliament Chishimba Kambwili has taken a fresh plea of not guilty in the matter in which he’s charged with three counts of forgery, uttering false documents and presenting false documents to a public officer.

Mr. Kambwili took plea before Principal Magistrate David Simuusamba.

He is alleged to have forged registration documents of Mwamona Investment Company submitted to the Patents and Company Registration Agency (PACRA).

And state witness Chilufya Tayali testified that Mr. Kambwili while information minister, illegally registered the company in the name of a person who did not exist.

But during cross examination y Mr Kambwili’s lawyers led by Keith Mweemba, Mr. Tayali told the court that he did not have any evidence on the allegations leveled against Mr. Kambwili.

He told the court that the evidence would be adduced by other witnesses.

The matter has since been adjourned march 15th, 2018 for continued trial.
