Teachers told to ‘behave’

Secondary Schools Teachers Union of Zambia (SESTUZ) General Secretary Sitibekiso Wamuyuwa has encouraged teachers to abide by the recently launched Code of Ethics.

Mr. Wamuyuwa has told Q-News teachers should strive to be professional in the execution of their duties.

He notes that the operationalisation of the Teaching Council of Zambia has brought new changes in teaching profession, citing the discovery of teachers with fake qualifications.

Mr Wamuyuwa says the establishment of the Teaching Council of Zambia is a milestone in enhancing professionalism among teachers.

He has since urged teachers to take it upon themselves to protect the teaching professional from unscrupulous people especially those who might want to join the teaching fraternity with fake qualifications.
