The Center for Trade Policy and Development (CTPD) has advised government to adhere to the proposed measures in restructuring the country’s economy if it’s to get the International Monetary Fund (IMF) financial support.

Mr. Mwaipopo says the IMF has not completely closed door for negotiations with Zambia, saying there is still an opportunity to get the credit facility.

He says what is important is for the government to scale down on expenditure.

Mr. Mwaipopo tells QTV News that government must continue working on economic reforms as this is the only sure way of restoring the country’s economy.
