General Education Permanent Secretary Henry Tukombe says 191 school both government and private have been closed countrywide following the outbreak of cholera.

Mr Tukombe says the ministries of health and general education have been having meetings to update each other with regards the closed schools.

He has implored school managements especially in schools that have reopened to keep their surroundings clean to ensure the safety of pupils.

Mr Tukombe says the ministry of general education ensures that there are disinfectants in schools; and that schools have been directed to sustain the use of disinfectants even after the cholera epidemic.
