BoZ Deputy Governor hails KUPES Young Women’s Network

Bank of Zambia Deputy Governor for Administration Dr. Tukiya Kankasa-Mabula has called for deliberate interventions to help young people in the country venture into entrepreneurship.

Speaking during a Friends of KUPES breakfast hosted by KUPES Young Women’s Network in Lusaka, Dr. Mabula says there is need to empower young women especially those who are disadvantaged in the country.

She has since commended KUPES Young Women’s Network for the work it’s doing by empowering, inspiring and motivating young women from all walks of life in the country.

Dr. Mabula has also called for strong partnerships that will help carry the network forward by reaching out to many more young women across the country.

Speaking at the same event, KUPES Young Women’s Network Founder Norena Chikoba has disclosed that about 600 women have been empowered since the organization was launched.

Mrs. Mutoya has reaffirmed that the network will strive to produce well informed, confident and assertive young women who will contribute positively and significantly to the development of their communities and the country as a whole.

Mrs. Mutoya says empowering women economically can lift entire families and communities out of poverty.
