Defense forces to be withdrawn after eradicating Cholera

The Ministry of defence says defence personnel will only be withdrawn from the Lusaka’s central business district once the cholera epidemic is completely eradicated and the CBD is thoroughly clean.

Defence Permanent Secretary Stardy Mwale has told journalists that there is no specific date on which the defence personnel will be withdrawn.

And Mr. Mwale has warned military personnel harassing civilians in Lusaka’s central business district of stern action.

He says defence personnel are expected to discharge their cleaning exercise in a more professional manner.

He says the ministry will not condone any form of harassment of civilians by the deployed military personnel.

Mr. Mwale has since urged members of the public who feel injured by actions of the defence personnel to come forward and present necessary evidence for the commencement of disciplinary procedures against the perpetrators.
