Traditional Healers and Practitioners Association of Zambia President Dr Rodwell Vongo has reiterated the need for people living with HIV/AIDS to adhere to taking of the anti retroviral drugs that they have been put on and not be lured into stopping by traditional healers.
Dr. Vongo, who has applauded the efforts being put in by the ministry of health to ensure that a lot of people are tested and treated, says this will save a lot of lives.
He has stressed that currently there is no herbal cure for HIV in the country therefore the need for people to stick to the conventional ARVs that they are given at the clinics.
He has however reaffirmed the commitment by traditional leaders in helping government fight the virus through sensitization and offering of herbal medicines that might help boost the immune system.
